Affiliate Disclaimer

Our commitment to transparency

FreeStackFinder is reader-supported. Some of the links on this site are affiliate links, which means we may earn a small commission if you click through and make a purchase — at absolutely no extra cost to you.

We are required by the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) and similar regulations in other countries to disclose this clearly, and we’re happy to do so.

When we write a comparison article — say, “Best free alternatives to Adobe Photoshop” — we may include a link to the paid version of Photoshop or another premium tool. If you click that link and purchase the product, we receive a small percentage of the sale price.

This helps us keep the site running, the content free, and the lights on.

What this means for our recommendations

Here is our firm policy: affiliate relationships never determine our recommendations.

If a free tool genuinely works well, we will recommend it — even if we earn nothing from that recommendation. We turn away higher-paying affiliate programs when we don’t believe the product is worth recommending.

We have declined to feature tools specifically because their paid affiliates pay well but we found the tools themselves disappointing. Our testing process and recommendations are independent.

If we recommend a paid tool or the paid version of a free tool, it’s because we believe it’s the right choice for a specific use case — not because of commission rates.

Programs we participate in

We may participate in the following affiliate programs, among others:

  • Amazon Associates — for hardware and physical product links
  • Impact.com partner network — for software tools including Canva Pro, NordVPN, Grammarly Premium, and similar
  • ShareASale — for various software tools
  • Individual software company affiliate programs — some tools run their own affiliate programs independently

This list may not be exhaustive. Where we earn from a specific recommendation, we will note it in the article where practical.

Affiliate links on FreeStackFinder typically:

  • Point to external websites (indicated by the ↗ symbol next to links in our articles)
  • Lead directly to a product page or signup page
  • May include a tracking parameter in the URL (e.g., ?ref=switchforfree)

Not every external link is an affiliate link. Many links go to tool homepages, documentation, or third-party sources purely for reference purposes.

Our editorial independence

The editorial team at FreeStackFinder makes all content and recommendation decisions independently. No advertiser or affiliate partner has editorial control over our reviews or comparisons.

If you have concerns about a specific recommendation or believe we may have a conflict of interest, please contact us and we will address it directly.

Questions?

If you have any questions about our affiliate relationships or how we make money, please reach out through our contact page. We’re an open book.
